Mckayla 21 Months Old

A special night at home.

2 weeks ago G&G took Mckayla for us so I decided to put on a fancy dinner for Josh and me. I made Chicken Alfredo and we drank juice out of fun glasses. I set this table up in our spare bedroom and played romantic music and had a slide-show of pictures of us playing while we ate. It was neat and we both enjoyed it! You don't always have to go out to have a nice time! It was a bit of work though...

Wyoming...

We played some games on Saturday night. Uno attack was way fun, and Cranium is one of my favorites.

This is a favorite VHS of mine when I was a kid. It has some Christmas specials on it that we watched every year and loved!

This is Mckayla with her cousin Tahleah about 7 months younger. They still had a blast playing together!

She loves sidewalk chalk! Who knew?

Don't mind me without make-up. Don't my Mom and I look alike?

These are to date, the biggest german pancakes I've ever seen! I can never get mine to raise up that big. These are SO good! Recipe at bottom...

Mandy and my Mom bought this cat for Maddie (my niece, mandy's daughter) at K-mart. It's so life like! It meows when you come in the room, and furrows it's eyebrows, and licks it's paw and stuff. Mckayla was having a fit over it!

GERMAN PANCAKES
Heat oven to 400.
Beat six eggs for about 4-5 minutes in large mixing bowl until light and lemon colored. Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1 tsp salt and mix lightly together.
Melt 1/4 cup butter in bottom of 9x13 GLASS pan, and pour batter in. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are brown and top is lightly browned.
Serve with sprinkled on powdered sugar and syrup. YUM!

She thinks she's cute...

Just a cute video for Josh since he wanted me to get this ball for Mckayla at Macy's. It was only a dollar!

A journal entry I thought people might like to read...

So the last couple of weeks have been sort of busy. I went on a spur of the moment trip to Wyoming to see my parents. We had a lot of fun! Mckayla enjoyed playing outside and being in a new place and my Mom and I did a bunch of projects. We re-arranged and de-junked her old office, and the entertainment center, and re-decorated a couple walls with stuff she already had. I made her computer a little more user friendly, put some music from Dad's mp3 player on it, and made it so she could watch movies on it using a remote control while she uses the treadmill. She was really happy with all the stuff I did! I also fixed the china cabinet door that's been broken for ten odd years. She was grateful for the help, and for a nice visit.

We have had an offer in on a house that we love for the last couple months. It's perfect, but it's a short sale. We never seemed to get much info about what was happening with it from our real estate agent, so I just called up the listing agent and got some more useful info. We're supposed to hear back from the bank if they will do a short sale on it within the next 2 months or so. I really want to buy this house, but if we don't get it, I will try not to be too disappointed and have faith that the lord knows what's best for me.

Some cute things Mckayla is doing lately. She is talking and mimicking a LOT more lately. She says "I don nah know" (I don't know) and when told "you got it" she says " I got iT"! She calls out to me "momma momma" all the time now when she wants or needs something. It's very cute and rewarding. She says a whole bunch of animals names and sounds and other things like: drinkie, up, NO, yeah, toys, eyes, nose, fouf (mouth), ears, feef (teeth), chin, toes, foot, bum, button, diaper, Bob (sponge bob) and a whole bunch of other words I cant think of right now. She makes all the sounds for cars and trucks and boats and the like too! She also just cut her 8th tooth on the top and the prospect of molars are looking promising. I am loving her more and more every day! She is the cutest miniature person! At times it is scary how much she learns from Josh and I. She copies lots of things we do. Both good and bad!

Josh and I are getting ready to go out for the weekend on a little trip to Salt Lake for our anniversary. We are going golfing at Hobble Creek after we drop Mckayls off at G&G's house, staying at Little America and have reservations to eat at The Melting Pot Friday night (the 13th, our anniversary). Then Saturday, we will order room service for breakfast, go shopping at Gateway, and we're going to see SALT with Angelina Jo Lee. And that's all we have planned... I will let you know how it goes.

Preview. The most awesome sky I've ever seen.

Click HERE to see the rest on VIBRANT VISTA.

There were a myriad of different types of sky last Sunday evening. The whole of the out-doors was immersed in the most eerie but beautiful light. Each angle of the sky had it's own personality. There was dark orange and gloomy, Mary Poppins, Ocean-side blue, and magenta sun on fire! I had SO much fun capturing all of these photos. I knew they would have the most amazing colors!
