This is what I benifited from today.

Wondering why I must suffer certain pains in my life, this morning.... I read this.
I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness, and the willingness to remain vulnerable. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
After that, I believe we can learn from our trials and become better people. We must have trials, learn from them, and move on, but keep in mind why and what we learned.

Done n' went shootin' !

We went shooting today out in Saratoga Springs area. Ali was kind enough to watch Mckayla for us so we could go have a good time together. It was a little scary but fun and sort of thrilling in a way to shoot a powerful weapon! It was cool to finally be able to shoot the expensive guns that have been hanging out at my house and see what they can do. I was "one of the guys" for a day. It's a fun but expensive hobby. It was nice to get a little sun out there too.

The last few weeks...

Mckayla loves her new bathing arrangements. She will be 4 months old tomorrow and has only recently graduated from mini tub/sponge baths to the real thing. She was getting to big for the former. She absolutely loves soaking in her new tub as you can tell from the photo. Bathing babies can be quite a strain on your back leaning over the tub so I just put my one foot in and sit on the side. It's much easier. She will get her next set of shots this Friday. It's so sad to watch them get all upset and cry, but she did okay with her last ones so I hope it goes well. She is starting to get stranger anxiety now. When someone she doesn't know holds her, she sticks her bottom lip out and starts to cry. It's adorable but I'm sure she hates it. We went on a short walk the other day to get the mail and she loved being outside and seeing all the different things. She loves books and loves to be sang to. She grabs her toys now and everything she gets hold of goes right in her mouth. She is such a joy. We love her. Aren't kids the best?
