I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, patience, love, openness, and the willingness to remain vulnerable. - Anne Morrow Lindbergh
After that, I believe we can learn from our trials and become better people. We must have trials, learn from them, and move on, but keep in mind why and what we learned.
I think about this sometimes too. That is a great quote.
